Word Break

intermediatelayer I7 · DP: 1D5 tests

Given a string s and an array of words wordDict, return true if s can be split into a sequence of one or more dictionary words.

  • A dictionary word may be reused any number of times
  • The whole string must be consumed, with no leftovers
  • An empty string is trivially breakable, so return true
  • Plain backtracking is exponential on adversarial inputs — memoise or build a table
