Word Pattern

Given a pattern of single letters and a sentence of space-separated words, decide whether the sentence follows the pattern. Write wordPattern(pattern, s).

  • Each letter must stand for one word throughout, and each word for one letter
  • abba with dog cat cat dog holds; with dog cat cat fish it does not
  • abba with dog dog dog dog also fails — a and b cannot both mean dog
  • If the counts of letters and words differ, the answer is false
