Partition Equal Subset Sum

Given an array nums of positive integers, return true if it can be split into two groups whose sums are equal.

  • Every element must land in exactly one of the two groups
  • If the total is odd the answer is false immediately — no split can halve it
  • Otherwise the question reduces to: is there a subset summing to total / 2?
